Leverage What You Have

I was asked a while ago how many entrepreneurs I have interacted with throughout my career. The truth is, I don't know. I can estimate based on what I've done over the last 30 years with live audiences up to 50,000 each year, but that doesn’t take into account the the national/international broadcast TV sessions or ISMs online classes, podcasts, live streaming, youtube, and other channels we have or use.

I'm not saying this this to brag, and have never been comfortable expressing the outreach of the work that I do. I share this because I feel fortunate to have been able to work with so many leaders and entrepreneurs and have had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about their business.

I've uncovered many skills that these individuals haven't necessarily realized they had! One of the most important skills I feel that many entrepreneurs realize during our conversations is the ability to just do what they can with the resources they have. Sometimes not knowing that they're actually leveraging something, or someone, or a network, or cash or whatever. As I continue the discussion with these entrepreneurs, I get an amazing feeling that secrets are being revealed as they look around to see what they can leverage from what they already have. Once they realize it, the skills become clear and are clearer every day.

While some aspiring entrepreneurs may be looking to see what they are missing, the entrepreneurs that I work with look to see what they already have that they use in a different way. As I continue to work with entrepreneurs and leaders, locally and globally, it is clear that wanting to do something, finding ways to do it, and continuing to do it is all the leverage one needs.

BEFORE YOU GO:

We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.

1. What do you already have that you can leverage?

2. What is it that you need to leverage?

3. What could you live without if you launch today?
