Never Alone — Always a Village

We often hear people say “I did this alone” when speaking of their business.

In reality, you may have taken action to make something happen, but many people along the way have supported you, enhanced your vision, or empowered you to get where you are today.

So you might want to rephrase things, in that you acted alone, but you learned from a village of people along the way.

You may not remember what a third grade teacher or classmate taught you or challenged in you. You may not remember an occasion when you were ten years old that changed your life or your thinking.

Things happen throughout our lives; we can be impacted by people we don’t even know, or our customers, friends, and partners.

We learn from these many experiences in our lives. Whether we see it is one thing. Whether we acknowledge it is another.

The reality is: We are where we are today because of those that have impacted or left an impression on our work, our life, or our behavior.

BEFORE YOU GO

We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.

  • What things can you reflect back on that you’ve gained from someone else?

  • What are things around you that could teach you something in the future?

  • What other tips can you share?
