Survival vs. Growth Attitude

A friend shared with me the thought that when you are in a growth mode you may be in a spinning mode where it is easy to let go of things as they come to you. When in survivor mode you may be holding on tight to every action, transaction, or situation you go through.

The reality is you may have to experience survival mode to get to growth mode.

The attitude that comes with survival mode cannot be the same as that with growth mode.

When surviving, you hold on to whatever you have, when you are in growth mode, you want to spend everything you have or invest it. Your attitude colors your surroundings and the decisions you make.

No matter which mode you are in, your attitude can still be positive. I remember, at one point in my life, being happy to be able to buy a single meal for myself. That kept me happy for 24 hours, when I began to feel hungry and the lack of money to buy another meal.

Survival mode attitude can keep you going because you may be looking for just that one next meal. Growth mode may be similar because you could be looking for the next growth situation.

While the situation is different, the attitude can be the same, but also could be different based on who is around you and what challenges they bring you.

  2. what attitude should you have while in growth mode?

  3. How have you monitored and changed your attitude in different situations?
