Program overview

IGNITE is a 7 weeks entrepreneurship program that was modified over the period of 3 years to address the challenges and opportunities that minorities face in starting or growing a business. It is a start- up small businesses program.

Goals/ Outcome

  • Create a one-page executive summary of a plan for the anticipated business.

  • Identify resources that can help you launch your business.

  • Establish a network

  • Understand your true cost to launch and sustain your business. 

Program Description

The program takes place in a session format one session per week and for 7 weeks for a group of 20 – 25 participants.  Each session is 3.5 hours in total divided into parts, each part is 90 minutes. The first part includes viewing and discussing IGNITE curriculum, and the second part includes coaching, mentoring and subgroups. The 5th week includes a tour based on the cohort specific needs. The 6th includes coaching and mentoring and workshops to learn the Business Module Campus (BMC). The final 7th week includes participants presentations (5-7 min each), feedback and closure ceremony.
