Entrepreneurial Mindset
In the past five years we have seen a trend and shift from entrepreneurial training for starting a business to entrepreneurial mindset training as a skill set.
What’s fascinating is the idea that the mindset of an entrepreneur can be used and implemented in multiple settings whether an employee in a large corporation, a business owner, or anything in between. The idea of an entrepreneurial mindset can help you gain insight into how to do your job better.
In our experience, entrepreneurs come in many forms and shapes, and have many ways of thinking. The book, The E-Myth Revisited states that entrepreneurs in general are more technical — those that have had the entrepreneurial bug and a little bit of management skills think they could start a business.
While we all know that you need some kind of balance between tech skills, entrepreneurship skills, and management skills to make a business go and grow, you do need to think through the entrepreneurship mindset and how it can be applied to a skill set training.
We have trained people in many countries in this idea from how someone can be an entrepreneur and an employee, all the way to skilled trade jobs and how they can also be infused with the entrepreneurial spirit or mindset.
What we’ve learned from this work is that the mindset of an entrepreneur is vital in the workforce whether it is as an employee or a business owner.
This is why we believe the entrepreneurial mindset should at least be exposed to everyone within your organization. It is not necessarily that everyone will become an entrepreneur the next morning, but only that they are exposed to this way of thinking. Whether they embrace it or they don’t like it is up to them.
