Launch Now, Improve as You Go
Through my experience working with startups, I’ve learned that those who do really well are generally actors of implementation. Those who don’t do as well are looking for perfection.
I’ve fallen into the perfectionist side, but over the years I’ve learned to let it go while launching something.
As you start your business, think about what you can do to implement immediately. Rather than having all the bells and whistles or all the services you want to offer, can you launch with just one product or service? Can you add others later?
Unless you have the money to wait it out to make it all exactly how you want it, most likely you will have to launch quickly with what you have.
I acknowledge that it’s important to:
Plan for the business
Understand how you will earn money
Understand the language you should use when talking to customers
What I will also say is that you don’t really know — until you launch — how the market will react.
One of the videos I recently watched said it beautifully:
Everyone has a plan, until you get punched in the face.
That punch in the face comes when you’re out in the marketplace. So, think about what you can do to launch so that you can understand what is happening in the marketplace.
What’s happening there only happens when you are there, not just talking about it.
Before You LAUNCH
We see our blogs as opportunities for dialogue. Please share your thoughts as comments.
What can you do to launch one product or service to one customer segment?
What can you do to get one or two customers quickly so you can learn from them?
What other things have you done to launch your products or services?
